....The Memorial is Canceled....Permanently..
by OUTLAW inthe wbts has canceled the book study, because small meetings are very important..jw`s will now prepare for small meetings,by only going to large meetings.....jehovah had the wbt$ cancel the book study.so jw`s could show both jehovah and satan who they are loyal to.....jehovah is giving jw`s a choice of what to do with their new free time..#1:do more personal study of wbt$ literature..or..#2:hang out with satan!..........armageddon is just around the corner!..study as much wbt$ literature as you can..there will be constant new light..what you learn today, won`t matter tomorrow..so be sure to study a lot!.........and..don`t let satan tempt you to hang out with him..not even if he offer`s you a cold beer!.......................................................there is another meeting cancellation..the "memorial"............as armageddon is so close, jehovah needs to know who jw`s are loyal to.....the memorial will now be known as "vote for jehovah or satan day!
".....every year jw`s will get to vote as to who they are loyal to,jehovah or satan..the winner will receive an all expense paid 2 week vacation.......who do you want to see go on that nice holiday?..jehovah or satan?......................................outlaw

Well despite his overenthusiasm and slippery record as YouKnow, I think Robert King can feel rather exonerated now with the financial system collapsing just as he has predicted for a long time (echoing Lyndon LaRouche on EIR).
He also slams the organisation on their child abuse stance, their UN treachery, the idolatry, their false 1914 teaching and chronology, etc etc....
So although he maintains sticking with the organisation and unfairly maligns Ray Franz, I don't know why he is so utterly reviled on this website.

IS THIS EVIDENCE/PROOF JESUS REALLY EXISTED?

Anyone with the slightest sense of history accepts that Jesus really lived. It is a historical given. The question really is: what are the gospels and are they historically reliable?
Leading edge NT scholarship maintains that 30-40 years or so between when Jesus died and the first NT books were written is not enough time for the Jesus 'tradition' to have become highly mythologised in the same way pagan mythical figures were, particularly when many original eyewitnesses were still living, most of whom were Jews who were adverse to mythologising humans in the manner their pagan neighbours did. The latest research into ancient and modern oral communities and traditions shows that what occurred during the oral period before the NT books were written was not the same as typical folklore and mythology. Putting aside the whole question of belief in miracles or not, the gospels are better seen as some unique form of eye-witness reports/biographies, with some individual literary embellishment by each author.
I would highly recommend recent books on the subject by NT scholarship heavyweights Richard Bauckham and James D G Dunn.

Thanks for posting this. I would have said almost exactly what Wallen said on this point when I was fully immersed 20 years ago.
This is actually quite interesting in gaining an insight into the thinking of the Watchtower leadership elite and highly brainwashed ultra-loyal JW. Wallens statements (said in a tone conveying amazement and disbelief) that "what are we left with?"; "what else is there"; "what do apostates offer?"; "all they do is tear down but give nothing back", etc, really shows how totally enamoured they are of the ORGANISATION. It is not about Jesus or simple faith in God, or modest fellowship with just a few other Christians, no, it is all about the organisation!..the Watchtower mother-ship. They cannot even begin to imagine life without the precious and powerful nurturing ORGANISATION dominating their whole life! It scares the hell out of them!!!
Take the ORGANISATION away and they literally feel they are left with nothing.

Closing this forum would be a major loss in bringing justice against the WT
by yadda yadda 2 inthe owners have given good reasons for deciding to close this forum and they have every right to do so.. but lets hope they change their mind and can come up with some other resolution to the recent difficulties experienced here apart from the extreme measure of closing it altogether.. sometimes we lose perspective a bit in the heat of the moment.
i hope they reflect on the fact that there is a compelling reason for keeping this forum alive: to continue the fight to reform and bring justice to the watchtower society and relief to its victims.. many persons have benefited enormously from reservoirs of information like this forum in helping them escape the watchtower's unrelinquishing and morbid control over their minds.
this website is a powerful tool for helping do that.

Why we can confidently say JW's are NOT fulfilling John 13:35

Good additional points Metatron.
When you examine the Greek words the apostle Paul used, it is apparent he meant to avoid only intimate, close, social contact with persons removed from the congregation. Polite, courteous social communication was fine, such as JW's treat the average worldy person. There were very different NT Greek words for both, and Paul only used the former when discussing treatment of disorderly and expelled persons. This is why he said in 1 Cor 5 not to eat with them, which denotes close, intimate, social settings. And it explains why in Thessalonians Paul exhorts not to shun them but to admonish them, meaning you can still communicate with them but at arms length, as it were.
The Watchtower's flawed interpretations and application of scripture on this matter are embarrasingly easy to see with a little research and common-sense.
Basically, they adopt a twisted, pharasaical position on this because it is self-serving, being such a powerful fear-control weapon to keep the flock in morbid submission. To their disgrace, it is a far cry from the balanced and sensible approach taught by Paul in harmony with the law of love.

"This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." - John 13:35 (NIV)
A genuine Christian would never totally shun a disfellowshipped family member or life-long friend who walked past them. Christ's true disciples would not walk buy and look the other way, refusing to even say a greeting. The admonition in 3 John is clearly only meant for persons who are apostates from Christianity, ie, who outspokenly speak against Christ and God, not mere immoral persons or persons who leave a religious organisation but still profess faith in God.
The exhortation in 3 John not to even say a greeting to such a person is utterly misapplied to offences under 1 Cor 5 by the Watchtower Society - a clear abuse of scripture.
Jehovah's Witnesses fail to live up to John 13: 35 by their willingness to symbolically kill family members and former friends by totally shunning them. This is anathema to the message of love and mercy that Jesus preached.
Also, the judicial arrangement of disfellowshipping persons for sins under 1 Cor 5 (and similar 'moral' offences) is also a gross distortion of the Christian message of love and forgiveness that true disciples of Christ should show for one another, through thick and thin. Disfellowshipping should be an extreme measure of last resort to remove persons from the congregation who are thoroughly hardened and unrepentant. No matter how many times a person sins, if they express sorrow and a desire to change, they should never be shunned like a leper. Jesus said to forgive up to 77 times. Such persons should be reproved/admonished but helped and supported to gain the victory over sin. And even if they are thoroughly hardened and unrepentant (for the present moment) they should be given the same courtesy and kindness that all Christians should show to anyone, including those without faith and their enemies, as Jesus taught us. That is the hallmark of genuine Christian love. Only rank apostates against Christianity itself should be totally shunned.
Because JW's so harshly and totally shun 'their own' (congregation members and family members) who have been disfellowshipped, and abuse and twist scriptures to support that merciless position, they are easily dismissed as not fulfilling John 13:35.
